The benefits of wholegrain rye to digestive health
A new CSIRO study initiated by Bürgen® has supported the positive effects of eating Bürgen® Rye Bread in promoting good bowel health1. These results support previous work conducted by CSIRO which indicated that the consumption of wholegrain rye foods as part of a healthy eating plan having the potential to promote bowel and general metabolic health2.
To further its commitment to improving the digestive health of Australians, Bürgen® Rye supported an Expert Roundtable discussion, held at CSIRO, Sydney. The aim of the Roundtable was to provide evidence-based, practical and realistic recommendations to assist Australians in managing their digestive and bowel health.
A key finding of the Roundtable Report was that most Australians are not getting the right combination of the three essential fibres (insoluble, soluble and resistant starch). It is essential to consume all three types of fibre as they each have different roles in maintaining digestive bowel health.
Working towards good bowel health can be as easy as making small changes to your diet by regularly consuming wholegrain rye products such as Bürgen® Rye bread which contains all three types of fibres important for good health.
